10 Things That Worked for My Health & Happiness!

Here are the 10 things I tried that really worked for me! I am the most slim and healthy I have been since I was 12, lost 3 pant sizes and feel so ready for LIVING!! Heres what I did:

1. Hello Real Food!

Who wants to eat something from a can, box or package anyway?! Real food is delicious. By real food I mean food that is whole, unprocessed, and natural. Labels can be your best friend! Is there something you cant pronounce?! No thank you aspartame, suraclose and GMO!

2. Hello Bee Pollen

Buzz Buzz,
Eating bee pollen in the mornings and before meals has really cut down on my “I MUST EAT EVERYTHING IN SIGHT” moods. We have all had them... Who knew our yellow furry friends could help?!

3. Hello Weightlifting
Weightlifting isn’t just for huge bulky girls (I was proved wrong) but it really helped me tone and tighten areas that running and cardio was unable to help with.
Cardio can go run in circles all day lol

4. Hello MyFitnessPal

Logging what I eat (even for a few weeks) helped me to see what vitamins and nutrients I usually get and which I don’t. Instead of making tracking food about not eating too much calories, I tried to focus on making sure I was getting all the nutrients and vitamins I needed. Why not try making it about investing calories into food that would help you meet your vitamin goals?

5. Hello Yoga Vinyasa

Trying yoga vinyasa has really helped my muscles to be stronger for everything else I do. I noticed a difference in muscle endurance and flexibility. Yoga Vinyasa is made up of constant movements that strengthen every area of my body, increase my heart rate and help my breathing and posture.

6. Hello Morning Stretches
Simply stretching when I wake up in the morning made my body feel so much better all day long, more willing to workout that day and stay active. When I woke up my muscles properly, they where then on my side :D

7. Hello Tastebuds

Ive eliminated added sugars and salt from my diet, which really made my taste buds more sensitive to the real taste of foods. No longer do I need salt on everything, which I didn’t realize was killing the beautiful natural taste of foods.
(Beware, the first few days are crazy, all you can think of is potato chips and pretzels)

8. Hello Forgiveness
Instead of quitting and eating more junk if I messed up a bit, forgiving myself and not listening to “You’ve already had one, might as well eat the whole box” voice. I've had one? Its okay! One bad choice does not make me unhealthy. I didn't always make the best choices to meet my goals but moving on from that was HUGE. We can really stress ourselves out when we worry about making a mistake, which adds even more harm to your body. The ability to get up after "tripping up" is such a great tool!

9. Hello community

Social situations are the hardest to stay healthy in. I've loved letting people along on my quest to be healthier, so this time I didn’t make a big deal out of being in public places, depriving myself of the community of food, but instead just shared with my friends of what I'm trying to do.
Most people really appreciate and admire someone trying to stay healthy and will be healthy with you too! Being healthy doesn’t have to be a lonely thing. My friends loved my honesty of how eating junk makes me feel (like a poopy head) and really supported me, even if they didn’t choose to do the same.

10. Hello Gods strength

Trying things on my own strength simply hasn’t worked. Jesus wants to be involved in every area of my life, and asking Him to help me here has been amazing. He has provided me with love, support, encouragement and endurance. We've used getting healthy to grow our relationship! Jesus is the best nutrition coach and wellness expert in the universe, so asking Him to develop His unfailing strength, self control, patience and forgiveness in me has been the only I've made better choices. Remember, you are so beautiful (or handsome) in His sight exactly the way you are now! Make every choice out of that secure place of knowing you are so loved and accepted.

These have been some of the things I tried this summer to be more healthy! I loved how God has healed the negative ways I see myself and has now helped to do take care of the body He blessed  me with! How cool are our bodies? They work so hard, transporting us, digesting for us, and providing a home for us. Have you thanked your body today?  :D

Let me know what you have tried that worked for you to be healthy and let me know if you will be trying any of the above tips!

Love,

Viktoriyous.
